The Orobica goat

The company was born in the 1980s as a dairy goat farm.
The traditional sale of goats’ kid and the processing of milk during the grazing season were the primary activities of the agricultural allocation.

Today, however, we dedicate ourselves exclusively to breed the Orobica goat: this breed, currently protected and in danger, has its own Herd Book and is bred in Val Gerola and in the provinces of Sondrio, Lecco and Bergamo.

With the aim of creating a solid and strong-structured flock group, we select the best subjects by paying  attention to genetics, physical characteristics and nature: we have in fact observed how over the years the orobicas’ goat has lost its original rusticity and resistance, perhaps due to a human selection aimed mainly at the aesthetic aspect.
